A HAUNTED HOUSE

BBFC advice: Contains strong language, crude sexual humour and drug use

Serious question: Who, with the exception of cinema obsessives such as me, would pay to watch garbage like this?
A Haunted House is base denominator movie-making.
Its concept is to take someone else's bad idea and try to make fun of it. Sadly, by doing so its makers end up creating a film which is far worse than the awful original.
The Wayans team are often the culprits when it comes to the spoof genre and Marlon writes and stars in A Haunted House.
But let me by totally honest: I did laugh once.
Yes, I, like many men, find breaking wind funny. I know I shouldn't but I do. And, trust me, A Haunted House contains a lot fart jokes.
Otherwise, it was a chuckle-free zone.
Michael Tiddes' movie is meant to take the mickey out of pictures such as Paranormal Activity and The Devil Inside.
But hasn't that been done before?, you may ask.
Well, yes. This is basically Scary Movie 5 reprised. If that wasn't ghastly enough.
So, there are the same humping references, the same drug-fuelled gags and on and on and on.
For the record Wayans plays a fella who is happy-go-lucky until his girlfriend (Essence Atkins) moves in.
It turns out she is possessed and causes things to go bump in the night in more ways than one.
David Koechner, Nick Swardson and Cedric The Entertainer (?) are among those who try to rid the evil spirits.
No more need be said than it is truly awful.
