Chasing Turkish films around the country has been one of the hurdles of the everyfilm quest.
Thankfully, this one, which has only been showing in the south-east was available on Festivalscope, an internet site for 'industry professionals'.
That makes me sound rather grander than I am - the fact is that I pay an annual subscription and, in cases such as this, it saves me a 240-mile round trip to London.
Anyway, I was mighty pleased that I took in Reis Celik's double-hander which stares deep into the heart of traditional arranged marriages.
Here, the groom (Ilyas Salman) is a gnarled grandfather-type who has spent decades in jail. When he emerges, a wedding to a young girl (Dilan Aksut) is on the agenda.
After a few minutes of setting the scene, the film alights on the pair in the bedroom on their first night together.
At no point in the picture do we ever know their names. He calls her Mrs Bride and he remains anonymous.
That rather fits with the stiltedness of their relationship. While they share the same cultural background, they couldn't be further apart.
To emphasise this, while he has consummation of the marriage on his mind, she is keener on him telling a bedtime story (the inference is that she is 13 or 14 years old).
The juxtaposition becomes even more stark when he thinks their home is being attacked and he produces a revolver but she turns on the light because she is afraid of the dark.
Celik's movie is all about the barriers between the two and their awkwardness. It is a cracking piece of work and requires intense performances from its two leads.
It certainly gets them: Salman is tough on one hand and yet his character's vulnerability begins to emerge. Meanwhile, Aksut takes her bride in the opposite direction.
The movie's fine acting gave me a chance to immerse myself in another world. It was an opportunity I readily accepted.
