BBFC advice: Contains strong language and psychological argument

Experience (twitter followers) proves that horror movies have a greater cult following that any other movie genre.
But why do they have to repeat the same old formula over and over again.
'Blood Chilling And Genuinely Frightening' claims the poster advertising Steve Stone's Entity. It is neither.
Even Mrs W, who is normally spooked by horrors, found it, as I did, dismally dull.
To be fair, if it had been original then I would have felt differently but I must have seen the best part of a dozen movies in which asylums or the like have supposedly been taken over by evil spirits of past residents.
And why do these places always have to be found by TV crews?
The premise here is that a Most Haunted-type show is trying to unravel the case of multiple deaths in a Russian forest.
How British television is allowed access to a crime scene at the centre of an alleged Russian police cover-up is never explained.
Nevertheless, the show's makers have hired a psychic (Dervla Kirwan) to make contact with the ghosts and ghoulies.
And it doesn't take much imagination (especially if you have seen these types of films before) to know what happens next.
Charlotte Riley plays the fraught TV presenter who soon loses her hard edge while Yuri Levkov is the Russian interpreter who is guarding a secret.
I am still trying to fathom out why Kirwan, a well-known British television actress, had anything to do with this. Suffice to say, it was not one of her finest hours.
