Saturday night and we were staying in Birmingham and we were unwinding after I had addressed 5,000 people at the keep Coventry City in Coventry rally.
Yes, I'm sorry but there are some loves which come ahead of the movies and that of the Sky Blues is one of them.
We were stopping in Brum because we were playing golf at the Belfry this morning but the best laid plans to watch three movies was sunk by fatigue and the fact that Bollywood movies do go on a bit.
Such was the case with D-day which was, nevertheless, a high-quality thriller which dug deep into the sore between India and Pakistan.
It stars Life Of Pi's Irrfan Khan as an Indian agent who has been deep undercover in Pakistan for years to the point that neither his wife nor young son have any idea of his background.
He is brought into action after a bombing outrage in Hyderabad, believed to be the work of India's number one target (Rishi Kapoor).
Indian authorities, emboldened by America's success in tracking down Osama Bin Laden to Pakistan, decide they will nab their man at his son's wedding.
Thus, Khan teams up with a ruthless former-soldier (Arjun Rampal), an agent who has flown in from the UK (Huma Qureshi) and a local informer (Aakash Dahiya).
Of course, trapping one of the toughest villains in the world is far from easy and human failings are thrown to the fore.
Nikhil Advani's movie slaps the rivalry of India and Pakistan onto the big screen in great big dollops and leaves the audience in no doubt whom it thinks the good guys are.
But there are complexities on both sides which add an extra layer of interest which is already piqued by some fast-moving action scenes.
Khan and Rhampal are the pick of the attack team but it is Kapoor who particularly catches the attention.
He is a terrific actor and can lend himself to slapstick comedy just as easily as he plays the ruthless villain here.
His is a key role in a very good movie which kept Mrs W and me engrossed.
