Well, at least we now know of the full potential of our telly.
Last year we bought a Panasonic Viera.
Mrs W talked me out of 50-inch so we settled for 42 but, accepting that we wouldn't buy another telly for ten years, I battled hard for it to be all-singing, all-dancing.
The fact is, however, that we have hardly used the 3D, largely because almost all of the extra-dimension movies can easily be found at the multiplexes.
However, Bait 3D only appeared briefly at screens in London and so I didn't get the chance of catching it in all of its eye-popping glory on the big screen.
So, having been sent it by Lovefilm, we had the opportunity to don our 3D goggles in our living room.
And it says much about Kimble Rendall's movie that I am giving greater emphasis to the quality of my telly.
Bait follows in the line of recent seaside horrors such as the Piranha franchise.
Horror fans may be enticed by the various ways its ensemble meet grisly ends but, in truth, the most convincing acting is from a very obviously rubber shark.
In saying that, Rendall and his writing team should be congratulated on Bait's premise.
It is set in an Australian superstore which is suddenly six feet under water after a tsunami sweeps in.
This would be disconcerting enough but, along with the tidal wave comes a killer shark, which has already seen off a swimmer and coastguard in its natural habitat.
Despite this orignal line, every character is a sterotype of the seaside horror films to which we have become so familar.
So, there is the wild child (Phoebe Tonkin), the placid police officer (Martin Sacks), the gnarled criminal (Dan Wyllie) and his desperate accomplice (Julian McMahon), the pretty dumb blonde (Cariba Heine) and her jock boyfriend (Lincoln Lewis), the arrogant department store manager (Adrian Pang) and the pair (Xavier Samuel and Sharni Vinson) who are destined to fall in love despite the circumstances.
And lives are cost because of decisions which are so utterly stupid that they wouldn't have looked out of place in Dumb And Dumber.
So, despite the interesting concept and decent 3D, Bait is rubbish.
