BBFC advice: Infrequent mild bad language

It's a few days since I watched a DVD of Leanne Pooley's Beyond The Edge and I am now immersed in the World Cup.
And, while I am hoping for heroics from the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Wayne Rooney, the fact is that whatever they do it will pale next to the epic glory of Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.
They were the duo who made the first officially successful ascent of Mount Everest back in 1953 and to do so they literally put the lives on the line.
By the way, I write 'officially' because it is possible than Mallory and Irvine reached the summit but died on their way down many years previously.
Anyway, this version combines dramatised recreations with footage and photographs of the expedition led by John Hunt.
There are also contemporary interviews with those on Hunt's team and with relatives and friends of Hillary and Tenzing.
The pitting of man against mountain provides a fascinating story which has some intriguing twists and turns.
For example, Hillary and Tenzing were not Hunt's first choice pairing to attempt to reach the summit.
Nevertheless, they have become two of the icons of worldwide exploration and Beyond The Edge reflects their derring-do with aplomb.
