Anyone who follows the everfilm blog is probably aware of how this review is going to shape up just by glancing at Dude Bro Party Massacre III's publicity poster.
Tomm Jacobsen, Michael Rousselet and Jon Salmon have brought us spoof B-movie action with more blood than ten years in an accident and emergency department.
But, in my view, once you have seen one ironic gore fest you have seen them all and the joke is wearing mighty thin by the time you have watched as many as me.
The premise here is that this film was banned in the 1980s and the only version which still exists is on a VHS recording made from a public television broadcast in the early hours.
Thus, the movie is littered with hastily cut clips of 'adverts'. Of course, they are all fictitious and are meant to lampoon the commercials of the past.
And there are a a series of blink-and-you'll miss them cameos from unlikely contributors such as Larry King.
That's right. The renown former CNN anchor appears in Dude Bro Party Massacre III.
Anyway, the bloodfest surrounds a female version of Freddie Kruger called Motherface who is set on revenge for the killing of her mother and sister by the members of an American frat house.
At the same time, the twin (Alec Owen) of a frat who has already met an untimely end has turned up to find out who was responsible for the killing.
The body count is substantial and in almost all cases there is decapitation, limb removal or torsos ripped in two.
Meanwhile, there is mockery of frat houses, particularly the pledge system (one dare results in the downing of a passenger jet, killing 250 passengers but everyone shrugs their shoulders).
I know there are people who go for this type of movie but I never found them funny before I was desensitised to the gore. Nowadays, they simply bore me.
