IT’S feisty, bouncy and is full of heart but I’m sad to report that independent comedy, Taking Stock, just didn’t make me laugh.
Derbyshire lass Georgia Groome is among the cast of Maeve Murphy’s film but it is really a vehicle for Kelly Brook.
The model-turned actress plays a shop girl who sees herself as a potential Bonnie Parker and persuades her workmates to take part in a robbery after they are told they are going to be made redundant.
Brook is the narrator, talking through her character’s various moods, as well as the star of Taking Stock and tries her best to bring an attractive zest to the film.
But she while she is frothy she doesn’t have the comic timing to elicit laughs from a fairly corny script.
Actually, I couldn’t help wondering why the film’s success rested almost entirely on her shoulders while her experienced support cast are reduced to bit parts.
In particular, having seen all of Groome’s feature film work, I couldn’t help feel her talents were not fully utilised.

Reasons to watch: a film with a good heart
Reasons to avoid: just didn't elicit any laughs

Laughs: none
Jumps: none
Vomit: none
Nudity: none
Overall rating: 4/10
