60. Bound; movie review

It's been exactly a year since I bemoaned the dullness of Fifty Shades Of Grey. What I didn't need was made-for-TV-style version of it,
Bound is the type of 'erotic thriller' that 15-year-olds used to watch when their parents had gone to bed. I know I was one of them.
I suspect that the advent of the internet means they get their kicks elsewhere nowadays,
Coincidentally, I watched Bound on itunes late on Friday night thanks to its qualification for the everyfilm challenge with a week-long run at the Rich Mix cinema in Bethnal Green.
And I ended up observing it alone because Mrs W was asleep within five minutes of it beginning.
The premise of Jared Cohn's movie is of a successful businesswoman (Charisma Carpenter) being attracted into a world of kinky sex by a 'bit of rough' (Bryce Draper).
So, they have boisterous hanky panky in daring places (e.g. the toilet at a charity fund-raiser) and visit a fetish club.
However, just as her obsession threatens her career and her family relationships, she realises her new fella's motives might be questionable.
To describe the acting in Bound, I am desperately trying to reach for an adjective which would not be seen as a double-entendre but it is ironic that it is both limp and stiff at the same time.
And is not helped by a script overflowing with cliches.
In fact, I couldn't imagine to whom it would appeal apart from those desperate to ogle the naked top half of one of the stars of Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

Reasons to watch: a bit of hanky panky
Reasons to avoid: it's even duller than 50 Shades Of Grey

Laughs: none
Jumps: none
Vomit: none
Nudity: yes
Overall rating: 2/10
